Statement
• An individual’s workspace or bedroom is a space that reflects an individual's personality and what drives them towards their goals and to be productive.
• How can shapes be used in the design of infrastructure to manipulate light and shadows in practical or abstract ways to communicate personal interests?
• Many traditional bedrooms are encased by four symmetrical walls, a door and a window.
• However, as cities evolve and develop more and more homes are being built in unconventional ways that have adapted this norm to being whatever may fit into our densely populated suburbs.
• Hence why my models transition from more practical transformations of my bedroom/study space to more innovative but less viable designs
Conclusion...
• Through experimenting with the use of models made from card and particular cutting and folding techniques, it is evident that
- although some designs may be prove the thesis they would not translate back to a 1:1 scale effectively for practical use.
- designs such as the tunnel are better used for their intended purpose, e.g. walkways, car tunnels, bridges, etc. rather than bedroom designs.
- etc.....
